Murder on Mount Mortimer is a tense cold case mystery set high in a remote mountain research station. After a brutal snowstorm traps nine scientists inside the facility, tempers flare — and Dr. Achenbach is found dead with a fatal stab wound to the neck. With limited suspects and no way off the mountain, it’s up to you to piece together the truth and expose the killer hiding among the team.
This case has a difficulty rating of 4/5, offering a balanced mix of challenge and excitement. It’s ideal for mystery fans who enjoy complex character dynamics, psychological tension, and plenty of twists in their investigations.
Most players spend around 3 hours solving the case, depending on how deeply they explore the evidence and follow each lead. It’s perfect for an evening of detective work, especially on a cozy night in.
The case can be played solo or with others — it’s perfect for individuals who love a solitary challenge, couples looking for a unique date night, or groups of friends hosting a winter-themed game night.
You can share the case with friends once you’ve completed it, but since the mystery has one definitive solution, it’s best experienced once per group. Many players pass it on to others to see how they solve it.
This was my second cryptic killers game. Excellent, just like the movie theatre one. Loved the theme, and was very well written.
I had a great time and it was very in depth and provided a great afternoon!! #foundthekiller
Purchased as a last minute valentines plan. This was so much fun!
I was impressed with the quality of the items included in the pack and the small details (such as making pages looked ripped from books etc) as this made the game feel more real!
Well put together story and clues. I thought I’d find this difficult and my partner thought it would be too easy and we were both proved wrong, which again made it fun. Was great to spend quality time together and to work as a team.
Looking forward to trying another one soon!
Love the game but the stuggle was reading the writing of the journals as some ofe the writing was impossible to read apart from that we found it very fun and interesting we got to the end and my parents though it was one person and I thought the other needless to say I got it right 😅 was a great date night idea would definitely do again
Fun one with a lot of info and details to keep track of. Definite worth a play.
